PERSONAL.
A presentation of a pleasing nature took place at Mr W. J. Cox’s grocery establishment last evening. Mr Frank Brown, who is leaving Mr Cox’s emuloyment to take up a position in the Bannevirke school, was presented by his employer and fellow-employes with a handsome dressing case. The presentation was made by Mr Cox, who referred to the high esteem and resneet, in which Mr Brown was held,; and assured the recipient that he would carry with him the best wishes of many friends foe his future welfare. Mr Brown suitably responded, thanking Ms Cox and his fellow-em-uloyes for their kindness, which he would always remember. Mr Brown leaves for Napier this evening. The Bishop of Waiapu arrives from Auckland this afternoon, and will conduct an induction service at Holy Trinity Church on Sunday evening r< Mr H. Hill, Inspector of Schools for Hawke's Bay, made a visit of inspection to the Gisborne school yesterS. McLernon arrived from Napier this morning.
