By Telegraph—Press Association. TreDtham, last night. t This morning shooting commenced at 8 o’clock. The weather was fine, and there was hardly any wind. The shooting was exceptionally good. Proceedings started with the Wanganui Match, 300, 500, and 700 yards, seven shots. Only two ranges have been completed. Fourteen possibles were recorded, McKee (Piako) leading in the match with 69 out of a possible 70. Some of the highest scores are : McKee (Piako) 69. A. Ballinger (Wellington) 68, Nelson (Woodville) 67, Lawrence (Kaitangata), Taylor (Taranaki), Speedy (Tenui), Head (Wellington), Little (Ngapara), Winslade (Wanganui), Pirio (Napier), Irvine (Waiinea), 66 each. The leading aggregates are: Hyde 329, H. Hawthorne 326, W. Loveday (Woodville) 323, A. Ballinger (Wellington) 319, Carlson (Auckland) and Aiteheson (Kaitangata) 318 each, Head (Wellington) 317.

Later. —The afternoon shooting commenced the finish of the Wanganui match. There was beautiful weather and good shooting. Nelson, of Woodville, the present champion, and A. Ballinger, of Wellington, tied with 98 out of a possible 105. McKee, of Piako, made 69 out of 70, but cracked up at the 700 yards, where he made 17.

One hundred won the match last year. The second rapidity match finished in the afternoon, and caused much amusement. H. Hawthorne, of Karori, and G. Hyde, of Opaki, fired off a tie. The Carbine Cup was won by Hawthorne.
