At. the Magistrate’s Court this morning an old age pensioner named George Whittlcy was sent to gaol for 14 days for falsely representing half of his wife’s property, and lie was ordered to refund £ll 18s 4d, the amount of pension obtained through such false representation, or serve a fu.tlier term of seven days in gaol. FOUR MEN DROWNED. The Toroa, which arrived from the Chathams yesterday, brought news Jhat- the men Rapley, Pepper, Fougere and Murphy, had been drowned while sailing-from-Pitt Island to the main island.
