(Per Press Association). ASHBURTON, last night,

The Conciliation Board met here today, Mr Turnbull presiding. The tailors’ case was- the first heard, the chief difficulty being payment of overtime. Several witnesses on both sides were examined, showing that the average wages were £2 10s per week, the TJnioii demanding £3 and better defined hours. The coach builders’ union demanded 10s per day, the local wages being 9s. A number of witnesses were examined, and the Court adjourned, announcing that a decision would be given later. The Court will sit at Timaru to-morrow.
