Despite the representations of the Agents-General, Australia is to have no say in the Army meat supply, the excuse of the War Office being that the whole of .the contract cannot be supplied from here. Consequently, some “British ” firms have been given the chance to turn an honest penny over the war. These include Bcrgl, Moritz and Co., Toulders and Co., Beit and Co., and the De Beers Company. What a thrill of patriotism these names awake, and “ tink of de brofids.’ —Adelaide Critic.
