PRINCE AND PRINCESS.
Monaco, Jan. 4. The breach between the Prince and the Princess of Monaco is now considered past mending. The Prince has sent a request for a special interview with the Pope on the subject of obtaining a divorce. Tho man in question is the celebrated French composer Isidore Lara. Ho will not be forbidden to enter the principality, the Prince taking the position that he will not stoop to consider even the mention of an alleged rival. Mr Pirani has not learnt wisdom by experience, and his valedictory speech, as tho Palmerston oration may happily be considered, is in his worst style, and a fitting ending to his parliamentary career. —Dunedin Star.
