A MOTOR-CAR BULL FIGHT.

His latest has boon a motor-car bull fight at Bayonne, l’ho affair attracted a largo crowd, but viewed as sport it can hardly bo called successful. In spite of previous rehearsals the bull wasn t playing, and did not seem to nave an idea what to do with the motor-car. To make the performance go at all, the promoters bad to opT with ordinary fights, during which s is lU orc or less tamo bulls and nine horses were butchered. But after that X?un was practically over. .Acer am amount of expectation was raised when the iron-sheeted auto-car appeared upon the scene, and the stoker, Choyrin, was applauded as he dexterously piloted his inaohiuo after the animal and wielded hls bandevUlas. Wo are told that he kept cool but ho does not seem to ha\e needed tobo anything else. The coolness was evidently mutual. The first bull obstin ately refused to take any notice of the machine. Later on a more powerful Sal was let loose, and after it had been chased about and considerably progged m the back, it turned round and got- hurt against he iron-plating. Then it helplefs Y arnmed itself in between the bartier and the auto-car, lamed its foot and Hmped away. By this time the spectators P feeling that there was not half l, „nra about the whole affair, so thevfein to hto both the stoker and the bull’s caballero impartially, and to demand that the animal should be slaughtered. The Spanish in particular were furious at , 6 p p „ f ; n „ in their favorite pastime, th6 l Ihev denounced the whole motor-car everybody went home more jr le.satisfied. -
