At the Summer Meeting, there was a poor attendance. There was splendid weather. The results were :
Trial Stakes : Lapidary 1, Speculate 2, Land Tax 3. Scratched : Good Spec and The Mole. Won by a head. Time 1.45 3-5. Divs., £4 13s and £5 18s 6d. Hornby Welter : Antigone 1, Cora Linn 2, Battlecry 3. Scratched : Savouna, Charioteer. Won comfortably. Time 1.30 1-0. Divs., .£8 17s and £1 6s. Middle Park Plate : Cruciform 1, Imperater 2, Firebrand 3. These were the only starters. Won easily. Time 1.17. Div. £1 Is.
Telegraph Stakes : Reflex 1, St. Elina 2, Common Shoot 3. All started. Won easily. Time 51 1-0. Divs., £3 13s 6d and £3 2s.

For the Taranaki Jockey Club’s second day there wa3 glorious weather, and a good attendance. The investments totalled £5453, making £11,187 for the meeting, as against £10,254 for the last year. The results were : Grandstand Handicap. Bowman 1, Durable 2, Sedgbroolt 3. Time, 1.31. Divs., inside £3 17s and £2 12s, outside £3 and £4 3s.

GISBORNE BACING CLUB’S SUM MER MEETING.
The Gisborne Racing Club were favored with glorious weather for the concluding day of their summer meeting. The attendance was much better than on the opening day, and speculation was brisk, the sum of £2824 being passed through the totalisators, making a total of £5176 for the meeting. The Gisborne Rifles Band was present during the afternoon, and did much to enliven the proceedings. The arrangements for the meeting were all that could be desired, and special praise is due to Mr M. G. Nasmith for the energetic manner in which he worked to make the gathering a success. The following are the results :

Tirea was first away, followed by Rodara, Sylvanus, and Cronje in the order named. The top-weight fell away in the run along the back stretch, leaving Rodara in command. The Voltigeur gelding led into the straight, and coming away in good style won comfortably by two lengths from Cronje, who made a fast run from the distance and beat Sylvanus for second place. Time, 3.21. Div., £7. County Stakes Handicap, 1 mils.

A.B.N. was prominent for the first part of the journey, when he was joined by Papatu, and the pair had an interesting fight to the post, Papatu winning by a bare half-length. Time 1.47. Dividends, £2 1-ls and £1 6s.
