At a meetingof the Queensland National Bank, the Chairman stated that the reports of the managers of all branches were favorable. There was ample grass and water, but he was sorry that ahead was the usual wet season. Reference was made to the possibility of the Kanaka legislation injuring the sugar industry. All the Bank’s advances in this direction were undoubtedly safe. He hinted at the probability of an increased rate of interest.
