Apropos of the report that the sermon to be preached by the Archbishop of[York at the coronation service is to be iu minutes in length, it may be mentioned that the sermon delivered at the coronation of Queen Victoria occupied a quarter of' an hour, and was preached by the Bishop of London. During the discourse the Queen sat in her chair on the south side of the altar, over against the pulpit, with the Bishop of Durham standing on her right, and beyond him, on the north side, the noblemen carrying the swords. On the left were the Bishop of Bath and Wells and the Lord Great Chamberlain. The text on this occasion was taken from IT. Chronicles xxxiv. 31: “ And the king stood in his place, and made a covenant before the Lord to walk after the Lord and to keep His commandments, and His testimonies, and His statutes, with all his heart, and with all bis soul, to perform I the words of the covenant which are * written in this book.” \
