STOCK SALES. Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. report : At our usual monthly stock sale to-day (10th inst.) we yarded 100 head of cattle and 600 sheep. Bidding was dull, and many lots were passed, but nearly all were sold privately afterwards. Light beef sold at £6 2s 6d, forward steers n £s los, 18-month steers £3 ss, 21-year heifers ;£3 10s, 2-tooth wethers, medium quality, Bs, full-mouth ewes, low class, 4s, inferior cull ewes unsaleable. MrCrago’s Lincoln rams sold for £3 3s. Our next sale will I be held at Waerenga-a-hika yards on 19th of February. Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. and Wyllie and Mason hold their annual sale at Puhatikotiko to-day. Very large entries have been received for the sale, and it is expected that there will be a good attendance. Messrs J. B. Kells and J. R. Wyllie will conduct the sale. On Friday, the 14th, the annual horse sale of Messrs Wyllie and Mason will be held at Waerenga-a-hika at 11 o’clock. So far, the entries total 200 horses.
