LOAN PROPOSALS APPROVED.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. A meeting of ratepayers to-night unanimously approved of the proposal of tho City Council to borrow tho sum of .£330,000 for electric tramways, street paving, and town hall. This proposal, if carried at the poll, will supersode tho proposals already sanctioned by the ratepayers to borrow the sums of £225,000, £55,000, and £50,000 for respective purposes. The Mayor explained that it was desired to consolidate the loans instead of going on to the London market for them separately.
