FANCY FAIR.

CLOSES THIS EVENING.

i The Theatre Royal was the scene of a 1 bright and attractive gathering on Saturday evening, when the Fancy Fair in connection with St. Mary’s Catholic bazaar was continued under most favorable circumstances. The several stalls were well patronised during the evening, and visitors were highly pleased with the fair, which was pronounced to be the b.est ever held in the town. The ping-pong tournament attracted a good deal of attention, the final in the gentlemen’s contest being won by Mr Lyttleton. The ladies’ match has not yet been decided, Misses Elliott and Heany having to play off. It is expected that the final will take place this evening. In connection with the ping-pong tournament a word of praise is due to Mr A. Zachariah for the manner in which he has worked. He was responsible for all arrangements in connection with the tournament, and is to be congratulated upon the success achieved. There was lively interest displayed in the drawing of the art union, the result of which was made known during the evening. A list of the thirty lucky ticket-holders who obtained prizes will be found in another column. It has been decided to continue the bazaar another evening, . and an advertisement-to this effect appears in this issue. Several fine hand-painted mirrors and screens are to be disposed of this evening, as well as a number of other valuable prizes.
