[By Telegraph—Press Association.]
Waihi, last night. Mr Jackson Palmer, who has ottered his services for the Ninth Contingent, addressed his constitutents last night, receiving a hearty vote of thanks and conndence, and the meeting pledged itself to endeavor to secure his re-election should he not return before the general election. An amendment was proposed that Hr Palmer forego his present intention and remain to look after the interests of the district. The motion was carried by only one vote. Mr Palmer intimated that he would obtain the wishes of the rest of his constituents before finally deciding. He considered it questionable whether his constituents would let him go.
