Dunedin, last night. This morning’s sitting of the Medical Congress was occupied with a paper by Dr Roberts, of Dunedin, on the administration of chloroform. The Doctor contended that, administered under -proper conditions, it was perfectly safe. The operator's safeguard in all cases was administration of the anaesthetic in the smallest doses possible. The greatest danger was to strong, young men and robust patients. Dr Roberts' views were generally approved.
