Applications received by the Wellington Recruiting Board for inclusion in the Ninth Contingent number considerably over 600, to fill 129 places. Christchurch, lasfi night. About 300 local applicants for the Ninth Contingent paraded this morning, and about 28 were rejected as being piaipably unfit from their appearance. IChe remainder are being put through rid.ipv and shooting tests, and will be medically examined to-morrow. Oamaru, laßt night. Ninety-five applications have been received for 18 places allotted to Oamaru in the Ninth Contingent.
