THE TAKAPUNA MEETING.
(Special to Times.) \ Auckland, last night. The third day’s racing of the Takapuna J.C. will be held to-morrow. The Marine Handicap has five acceptors—a poor lot, of which Loch Fine may be best. There are eighteen in the Borough Handicap. Gold Web, Miss Lottie, and Lady Avon may race well. The Summer Cup may go to Regalia 11. or Honesty. Evening Wonder and Royal Conqueror I have the most respect for in the Hurdle event. First Whisper, Blue Paul, and Girl may finish in the order named in the Pony race. I like Hohoro, notwithstanding his heavy impost of 11 stonein theDevonport Handicap. If Hohoro finds difficulty in getting round the sharp turns at Takapuna course, Landlock aud Jewellery may be most dangerous. The Steeplechase should be won by Evening Wonder. Zulieka, Paul Seaton, and Despatch read best to me out of the sixteen in the Welter.
