SIR JOSEPH WARD.

HIS WEST COAST TOUR. (Per Press Association.) ROSS, last night. The Ministerial party had a long day yesterday. There was a luncheon at Kokatahi, which was a brilliant success, there being a large attendance ani much enthusiasm. Sir Joseph Waul was taken to various points of the river to show him the ravages of the flood, and the necessity for bridging the Kokatahi river. Later on at Rjjnu Sir Joseph was presented with a complimentary address from the Miners’ Association. Ross was reached shortly before 8 p.m., when Sir Joseph gave a political address, speaking an hour and a half. Totara Hall vms crowded, and there was much enthusiasm displayed. At both Rimu anc Ross votes of thanks to the Minister and confidence in the Seddon Ministry were carried with acclamation. ’ Sir Joseph and Lady Ward dined with the Mayor and Ross Borough Councillors, and subsequently attended a social dance, which wound up the day’s engagements. The receptivju of the visitors everywhere has been most hearty. Sir Joseph Ward is engaged with deputations this morning. leaving at noon for Hokitika, via Lake Mahinapua. After a political addres.-: at Hokitika to-night, the Minister goes on to the Grey, reaching Rtcfton to-morrow. Sir Joseph stays at Reefton till Saturday morning, when he travels overland to Nelson to attend the Jubilee festival.
