EIGHTH CONTINGENT.

The troopship Surrey is to leave Wellington at 4 o’clock to-morrow afternoon, and is expected to got away from Auckland on Saturday evening. She will call at Sydney and Albany, and finally land at Durban.

The Cornwall, with tho South Island battalion, is expected to leavo Lyttelton on Wednesday of next week, and go direct to Albany, probably arriving there about the same time as the Surrey. Colonel Davis, commander of, tho contingent, will travel on tho Surroy, with his staff.

Dunedin, last night.

A chaplain will be appointed to tho Eighth Contingent. Tho Presbytery aro asking for a similar appointment for tho Ninth.
