(By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. Tho Takapuna Jockey Club’s summer meeting commenced yesterday. The weather was favorable, and the attendance satisfactory. The amount put through the totalisator was .£8499. The following were the results: — Handicap Maiden Plate, one mile.— Zulioka 1, Sly Miss 2, The Frenchman 3. Also started: Gold Web, Donnybrook, Himalaya, Aurega, and Bob. Time, 1.46. Divs., inside £3 13s, outside £3, Sly Miss £1 13s.

Calliope Handicap, 6 furlongs.—Gladiola 1, Mary Seaton 2, Northumberland 3. Also started : Austerlitz and Bastion. Time, 1.19. Divs., 1111 9s and £l3 3s. Zealandia Handicap, 5 furlongs.—Reclaimer 1, St Olga 2, Jewellery 3, Also started: Takapuna, Telephone, Camille, Highlander, Lady Avon, Rosiphele, Hikipeue, Golden Rose, Strowan, Despatch, Brilliant, and Cuirasette. WELLINGTON RACING CLUB’S SUMMER MEETING.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. The third day’s racing was conducted in splendid weather. About 2500 people were present. The sum of £8695 was put through the totalisator, making £26,881 for the meeting, or £7252 less than last summer meeting. The following are the results : Summer Handicap.—Fleka 1, Jemima 2, Queen’s Guard 3. Also ran : Torowai, Indian Shot, and Rebel. Jemima led into the straight, but Fleka had all the best of tho run home and won by a neck. Time, 1.304. Divs., £3 3s 6d and 13s 6d. Hack Welter Handicap.—Gipsy Jack 1, Waitoa 2, Punawai 3. All started but Pauhau. A good race. Won by a length. Time, 1.474. Divs., £4 5s 6d and £1 2s. Port Nicholson Handicap.—Glenogle 1, The Shannon 2, Canteen 3. All started. Glenogle jumped away with the lead, and was never again headed, winning easily by two lengths. Time, 1.42 4-5. Divs., £4 6s and 18s, Fitzherbert Handicap. Achilles 1, Float 2, Optimist 3. These were tho only starters. Won easily by a length. Time, 1.16 4-5. Div., £l3s. Pencarrow Welter.—Rebel 1, Jewel Gun 2, Taplow 3. Also started : Hokio. Won very easily by half-a-dozen lengths. Time, 1.59 1-5. Div., £5 2s. Zealandia Plate.—Cruciform 1, Tortulla 2, Gannie Chiel 3. Also started : Fashion. Cruciform took charge three furlongs from home and won easily by a length. Time, 2.10. Div., £1 4s 6d. Disposal Stakes.—Battle Cry 1, Sir Redvers 2, Jewel Gun 3. All started but Ghoorka and Spun Gold. Won by a neck. Time, 1.17 4-5. Divs., £2 6s and £1 12s. A protest against the winner for interference was dismissed. The winner was bought in for £35.

Federal Handicap.—Goldspur 1, Te Taiaha 2, Shrapnell Shell 3. All started but Ostiak, Torowai, Ringlet, Sentry, and Rebel. Goldspur was in the van all the way, and won by two lengths. Time, 1.25. Diva., £5 13s and JE2 3s 6d. A protest against Goldspur on the grounds of inconsistency was adjournod until Tuesday.
