OUR SOLDIERS.
MEMBERS OF PARLIAMENT TO THE FORE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Saturday. The captains of squadrons of the Eighth Contingent are: —North Island: Captains Cameron, Sommerville, Seddon, and Saxby. South Island: Captains Fook, Colbeck, and Montgomery, and either Captain Rhodes, M.H.R., or Lieutenant Collett by promotion. Captain Jackson-Palmer, M.H.R., has applied for a commission in tho Ninth Contingent.
Wellington, last night. It is understood that Captain R. Heaton Rhodes, of the C.Y.C., M.H.E. for Ellesmere, has obtained a commission, and will probably go with either tho Bth or 9th Contingent to South Africa. His constituents are quite prepared to allow him to go without forfeiting his seat.
