Fire at Ponsonby.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Auckland, last night. A serious fire occurred at Ponsonby. Kelly and Powell’s shop was totally destroyed. The premises occupied by Pierce, butcher, and Chas. John Goodwin, draper, were partly destroyed. Kelly and Powell lost everything, including books. Goodwin bad £I7OO worth of drapery in stock. Mr Myers, chief officer of the steamer Ngunguru, rented the back poition of Kelly and Po .veil’s premises as a dwelling, but bis family were away from home. They lost all. The insurances were: Goodwiu’s two storeyed shop, Royal, £2OO, stock and furniture uninsured, estimated loss £2000; Kelly and Powell’s stock, £IOO, Victoria ; Myers’ furniture and effects, £IOO, New Zealand. The cause of the fire is unknown. Hellabv Bros, owned Pierce’s, Myers, Kelly, and Powell’s premises, but the insurance is not available,
