THE LONDON WOOL MARKET. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright London, Jan. 24. The wool market is brisk. The price for best wools is tending upwards. The Akitio clip sold at 5 l-Bd. The Bradford market has an upward tendency. Common sixties are at 19Jd, supers 20Jd. The butter trade has slightly improved ; quotations are unchanged. Danish is hardening. Cheese is firm, but unchanged in price. The stock of coin is 4183,776,000. The Bank reserve is .£24,699,000, the proportion of reserve to liabilities being 49.12. In circulation, j£29,035,000: public deposits, 419,493,000; Government securities, 4117,279,000; other securities 4126,389,000.

Three months’ bills are discounted at 2 7-Bd. Consols are at 94. New South Wales three-halfs are al 106 ; threes, 96 : N.Z. fours, 112 ; threes 95. The others are unaltered.

Wheat markets are quiet and generally steady, but pricos are weak and cargoes neglected. The Victorian and South Australian Novemuer shipment sold at 30s 3d; New South Wales DecemberJanuary, at 30s. Coppor is steady ; spot, 48 5-8 ; three months, 48J. The tin market is quiet; spot, 106jJ : three months, 103j{. Lead is at £ll and iron at 49s 3d. The sugar market is firmer.
