LABOR DISPUTES.
(Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night. In the Arbitration Court His Honor announced that he had fixed the rate of wages m the gas stokers and coalers dispute for both classes of coalers at 7s fid per shift. With regard to the stokers, taking into consideration the nature of the work and the industry itself, they thought a fair rate of wage ior them was Is 2d an hour, or Os Id per shift. His Honor said that the question of payment for holidays had been considered, and as gas must be supplied the Court considered that 9s Id per shift was sufficient. The award would cover ail stokers and coalers employed by the Auckland Gas Company in Auckland district.
