HIGHWAY ROBBERY.

ARMED ROBBERS MAKE A BIG HAUL.

A sensational highway robbery occurred at Port Adelaide at 2 o’clock this afternoon.

Mr Greenaway. General Manager of the Block Fourteen Mining Company’s works, anti Mr Winter, Assistant Manager, were driving from the Bank to the works with a bag containing £1232, to pay wages.

Just before thev readied the works, two mounted and masked men rode up and ordered them to hail up. Mr Winter continued driving, and then one of the horsemen drew a revolver and shot the horse. Messrs Greenaway and Winter were thrown out-. The former was stunned. Winter suffered an 'injured leg. Winter attempted to draw his revolver, but was covered by a revolver, and compelled to put up his hands.

The robbers secured the money and ;a Hoped off. The police are pursuing them.

Greenaways fnjurres necessitated his removal to the hospital.
