BIS SHEEP SALE.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Napier, last night. A b : g sale of sheep was held here today, Messrs Wenley and Lanauze submilting 17,923 Romney and Lincohqcrossbred sheep on account of the Ratoka station, and 5500 on account of A. Shield, Waikonini. This number was exclusive of tho stud rams, but including lambs. Mr E. Bowers, representing W. B. Clarkson and Sons, of Christchurch, was a large purchaser. The Patoka station flock realised in round figures T7OOO, making an average of 7s 9d. Of Mr Shield's shc-ep, 1500 4-tooth wethers went to Clarkson and Sons at 8s 7d, 2500 2, tooth to Nelson Bros, at 8s Bd, and the ast lines of 1500 2-tooth wethers to J, Matthews at 7s 9d.
