WATER SUPPLIES. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Hobart, Jan. 17. The Science Congress has concluded its session. On the motion of Professor Derham, of Dunedin, a resolution was carried in favor of more effective - measures for the conservation of forests. The Congress also adopted resolutions urging the setting aside of areas of land to secure pure water supplies for towns ; taking measures to prevent the spread of phthisis, recommending,at least one tuberculosis sanatorium be provided in every State.
