RECHABITES.

A meeting of the Gisborne Tent, No. 54, 1.0. R., S.U.. was held in the Tent room last evening, Bro. M, G. Nasmith (junr.), Chief Ruler, presiding. The balance-sheet for the quarter,', anuual return, and auditor’s report, were presented and adopted. It showed: District funeral fund, receipts £1 16s Bd, expenditure £1 16s 8d; sick fund, receipts £l5O 8s sd, expenditure £3 6s 8d ; contingent fund, receipts £27 17s 3d, expenditure £lB Is. The total funds were : Sick fund £147 Is 9d, contingent fund £9 16s 3d. Seven members had been initiated during the quarter, the number of members in good standing at present being 39, 30 being full benefit, J. half benefit, and 8 honorary. A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Bro. G. Goldsworth for his present of a ballot box to the Tent. Bro. J. Peckover, treasurer, on behalf of the Tent, presented Bro. Nasmith, Chief Ruler, with a Past Chief Ruler’s emblem. In making the presentation Bro. Peckover referred in eulogistic terms to Bro. Nasmith’s work in connection with the Tent, and paid a high compliment to that brother on the maimer in which he had conducted the business of the Tent during the past twelve months. He wished him health, happiness, and every success in his ensuing six monthe of office. Broi Nasmith, in reply, stated that it had fallen often to his lot to present brothers with tokens of the esteem of the members, and he would much rather have been presenting the emblem than receiving it. He had only done his best, and he was perfectly content if the members were satisfied. He thanked them for the gift, and hoped that their relations together * would continue as pleasant in the future .f as in the past. Two new members were initiated and two more proposed. 1.0. R., S.L., was also held last evening, Bro. J. Dods, Chief Ruler, presiding, when a large amount of routine business was disposed of.
