At the inquest concerning the Towetta tragedy Mary Schippan, who was sleeping with Bertha on the night of the tragedy, was examined. The solicitor appearing for the Schippan family asked that she be cautioned as she stood in a suspicious position. Mary repeated the story about a man laying across the bed, and tho subsequent events. She accounted for u bloodstained knife found in tho cupboard that it had boon used for skinning parrots. She admitted that a portion of a bloodstained blouse produced was her’s.
