has resumed duty. General French states that police supervision in Cape Colony will be confined to a triangle extending from Rhodes to Barkley Pass, returning to Rhodes. London, Jan. 9. Major-General Elliott, on the sth, captured nine Boers and found a destroyed
lvrupp gun at Kroonstadt. Lovat’s Scouts surprised a portion of Mvburg’s commando at Kingscrown, killing one and capturing eight, including Commandant Neeriug. Botha has been reinforced by DeWet at Bethlehem. Colville’s Scouts captured thirteen Boers on the Swaziland border.
