NGAPCHI’S TRIP. By Telegraph—Press Association. New Plymouth, last night. The information received last Friday relative to the Ngapuhi’s rough trip from Onehunga proves incorrect. The weather was somewhat rough, but the ship behaved splendidly, and the propeller received no damage as stated. Her late arrival at New Plymouth was due to the departure from Onehunga. The vessel was waiting for excursionists, and Jit was the first vessel that missed connecting , with the morning train started running in November, 1900. ESCAPED PRISONER. The man Shriener, who escaped from gaol to-day, was working in a building attached to the gaol, and the man by some means got hold of a private coat, and escaped through the window. He left his prison trousers behind, after getting out, and then he got clear away. A search party was out till lace to-night, but could find no sign of the man.
