The City Council has decided to consolidate the loans for street-paving, town hall, and electric tramways, .recently authorised separately by tho ratepayers, and will submit a new proposal to borrow £330,000 for the above purposes. RAID ON CHINESE. A raid was made by the police on Sunday night on a Chinese gaming house in Ilaining street, where a pekapu lottery was being drawn. Elovon arrests were made. Defendants were brought before the Court this morning, and remanded on bail till the 13th inst.
