League of Wheelmen.
(By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night.
At a meeting of the League of New Zealand Wheelmen to-night a solicitor’s opinion was road in regard to the Workers' Compensation for Accidents Act. In order that a person who is injured, or his representative if killed, could obtain compensation it must bo established that ho was engaged in an employment to which the Act referred at the time the injury occurred, and that the relation of master and servant existed at the time of tho accident. The opinion was also expressed that Cycling Committees might ho liablo for damages to a rider on a track while racing if it could be proved that tho injury was caused by the negligence of the club. At a special meeting a motion that tho league take over the control of riders in road races was lost, but it was decided to refer the whole question to the committees. A motion regarding entrance fees was altered io enable foes to be charged, not exceeding 5 per cent, of tho prize money.
