EIGHTH CONTINGENT.

By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington last night. The North Island battalion of the Eight Contingent go into ®amp training at Trentham, near the Hutt, and the South Island battalion at Addington.

DAIRY PRODUCE,

It was thought up to the last few days that the output of dairy produce in New Zealand this season would be seriously roduced in consequence of the dry weather. The rain which has now fallen in different parts oi the coloDy, however, changed the aspect of things. The Dairy Commissioner is of opinion that the output will equal, if indeed it does not exceed, that of last season. CABLE STATION.

The tender of C. H. Frankham, L47T9, has been accepted for the erection of the Pacific Cable Station buildings at Doubtless Bay.
