[BY TELEGRAPH— PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Napier, last night. Messrs Nelson Jiros., Limited, have received the following cable from the Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company, London, to-day : “ Stocks of frozen meat of all kinds are very heavy. The demand is stagnant, and there is a further fall in the values of mutton. Today’s quotations are: Best Canterbury mutton ij 3-84 per lb; best NapierWellington and North Island mutton, -,dper lb. Lamb: First quality, 4id per lb; second quality, 4|d per lb.

Christchurch, last night. At tno second wool sale of the season, he.d to-day, 11,600 bales were offered, ihe selection included some larger and better clips than at the previous sale, but the bulk of the wool was again very dirty, and generally of inferior quality. There was a large attendance of -buyers, representing Otago, Wellington, and Canterbury woollen nulls, fellmongers, and local speculators, but no Home buyers. The woollen mills were the principal operators, and best merinos and halfbred showed an advance of fully a halfpenny, but medium and coarser wools were down a farthing and halfpenny respectively.
