Gregory’ held that tho option was with him to bat or allow South Australia to follow 011. A wire was sent to tho Crickot Council. The reply was that it was not a matter for the option of the opposing captain. Gregory accepted tho position and took tho field again. Tho South Australians, in thoir second essay, made 221 ; Hill 40, Ileedman 45, Kirkwood 46, McKenzie 31, wero the principal scorers. Hopkins took S wickets for 36, Trumper 2 for 23, Mcßeth 4 for 82, and Howell 1 for 70. Now South Wales won by an innings and 98 runs. _ln their match with a Glen Innos eighteen, the Englishmen with seven wickets down for 309, declared the innings closed. Hayward scared 100, and Gunn 97. ulen lanes, in their second innings, scored 79. The English won by an innings and 79 runs.
