[By Telegraph— Press Association.] Auckland, Saturday. The Takapuna dockey Giub's Spring Meeting was commenced to-day, when the weather was delightfully tine and the attendance satisfactory. A field of eight events was disposed of, the principal race of the day, St. Andrew's Handicap, falling to Tauhei and Sparking Water, who ran a dead-heat. During the afternoon the sura of J&673-1 was passed through the totalisators, the inside machine paying out on the first horse past the post, and the outside machine on the first and second horses.
