BOWLING.

Yesterday afternoon was a lovely bowling day, and the Gisborne green was again very crowded. The following full-rink games were played:— Dixon Cussins Orr Sheridan Skeet Nasmith Ferris (skip) 15 Matthewson (skp) 20 Martin Massey Willock Lewis Simson Batharn Holland (skip) Coleman (skip) Another game was also played by the same teams, No. 3 in each team taking the place of skip, tho aggregate scores being 26 to 25. Jones Claydcn O’Meara 17 Hookey 20 Handicap Singles.

Cussens 23 Albert Adair 16 Dixon 22 Ferris 7 Hookey 20 McGowan 19 Messrs Ponsford and McGowan, representing Gisborne, challenged Messrs Witty and Bright, as Haiti representatives, to a match of two fifteen-head games and alternate skips, with the result that Kaiti scored in the two games 35 to Gisborne’s 24, the first fifteen being 19 to 5, and the second 16 to 19.

Mr Ponsford then challenged Mr Witty to a single 15-head contest, but the champion skip was again defeated by “ Rip Van Winkle,” who was in splendid form, and who came home a winner after a closelycontested match, in which there were several very good heads played, by 12 to 9. Aftornoon tea was again dispensed by the caretaker, and was much appreciated, as the afternoon was very warm.
