DREDGING AFFAIRS.

ALLEGED “ SALTING.” (By Telegraph—Press Association.)

Dunedin, last night. At a meeting of the Island CreekDredging Company shareholders it was resolved to go into liquidation. A telegram was received from Westport from Gibbard, stating that he was positive the claim had been salted, and suggesting the institution of proceedings. The Chairman said he thought there would be no difficulty in joining with other companies in taking proceedings, either by themselves or through the Shareholders’ Protection Association. It was made a recommendation to the liquidator to contribute something in conjunction with other companies to prosecuting those suspected. A suggestion had been made to approach the Government, but this was not adopted. The other two companies supposed to be interested arc the I* airdawn and Yv r areatea, near Westport.
