THE DUST NUISANCE.

(To the Editor of Times.) Sir, —It is to be hoped the Borough Council will take steps to minimise the above as early as possible. The discomfort to pedestrians and shopkeepers, as well as loss, are really quite sufficient to warrant a trial being made of sprinkling -oil or spraying, similar to that carried on in large cities. It would not cost much to try the effect on, say, Gladstone road, and it would be greatly appreciated by the shopkeepers and travelling public. The tendency of the age is progress, improvement, and comfort. Thanking you iu anticipation, I am, etc., Shopkeeper.

It is a pity members cannot manage to settle their private grievances during the session. Possibly this is too much to expect for £'2-10 a year.— Stratford Settler.
