PLEA POll BL \CK LABOR, By Telegraph—Pres3 Association—Copyright Melbourne, Nov. 18. Replying to Mr Philip's protest against the Kanaka Bill, Mr Barton declines to admit that tho State legislation represents public opiuion more tVuly than the Federal Parliament which Queensland helped to choose. No good ground existed for supposing that white labor is not pvailablo to carry on the sugar industry. Mr Barton adds that the Commonwealth will take the responsibility of deporting tho Kanaka, whatever the result may be.
