Excitement was caused at Pirongia on Saturday by the chase and capture of Hill, who was apprehended on a charge. of having attempted to poison J. McComchie, the Government rabbiter, some time ago. Accused escaped from Otorohanga police-camp several days ago. The Tc Kuiti Native policeman Xikora got on his tracks, aud followed him here. He was seen to enter some high ti-treo, %vhen Natives, assisted by the policeman, surrounded and captured the accused, who bore a most dejected appearance.
