A.R.C. MEETING. NOTES AND ANTICIPATIONS. (Special to Times.) Auckland, last night. At Ellerslic to-morrow the third day’s Spring Meeting of the Auckland Racing Club will be brought to a conclusion. Good acceptances have been secured for the various events, and tirst-class racing should result.

The Maiden Handicap Hurdles has ten engaged, and the race wears an open appearance. Royal Conqueror, Chancellor 11., Tangahoe, and Rocket each read to have winning prospects, but Hinemoa has rather much weight. Firefly does not seem forward enough, and the distance is too far for Tiki. Leona may run a fair race, but I like them in the following order : Royal Conqueror, Chancellor 11., and Tangahoe. The Ascot Handicap should produce a fair field, as a round dozen are left in, and the handicap has been framed on equitable lines. The race looks hard to pick, and I like the five top weights best, but I am just doubtful whether the race Coronet had on Saturday will have improved him sufficiently. Rosella, Val Rosa, tormula, and St. Ursula is the order in which I would select them, and Rosella may get home.

The Hunt Club Cup may fall to the Gisborne horse Cronjo or Tarragon in the probable absence of .Miss Drury. I The Nursory Handicap was framed on j better lines than the handicap for the Musket Stakes, but why Lavalette, who was not paid up, should have been set to give Muskerdale, who like himself, has not started, Sibs and I4lbs to Rondoletia, a filly that has not yet run. can only bo surmised. Northumberland and Idas may fight out the finish unless Kelburn is vastly improved by the gallop he did on the opening day. For the Publican’s Handicap I would take Val Rosa t o have as good a chance as any on the same side of the handicap. Zealous and Lady Avon read best of the others.

In the Tally-ho Steeplechase Voltigeur 11. and Cannongate read the most likely.

The Welter Handicap is not an easy race to pick. Regalia 11., Winsome, and Defender are the trio I prefer. Tho Hunt Club Hurdles may go to Miss Drury, with Tuirne next best. WELLINGTON RACES. (By Telograph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. The following weights have been declared for the First Hack Handicap of the Wellington Racing Club : —Shrapnel Shell 8.11, I’leka 8.9, Convov (late Despatch) 8.8, Black Wing 8.3, Te Pake 8.2, Reclaimer and Benefactor 7.13, Raema 7.11, Gipsy Jack and Westerly 7.10, Jingle 7.10, Rata 7.5, Valkyrie, NVoodleigh, Hokio, and Laureate 7.3, Missile, Pure Silver, and Ziska 7.0, Groy Gown and Aldinga 6.7.
