Bowling analysis: Travers, 4 for 37; Giffen, 6 for 47. Gunn bowled four noballs, making his record one wicket for 40. Consequent on the rain in the night, and again during the morning, play was not resumed till about 2.30. The wicket was greasy.

The others wero quickly disposed of. The visitors began thoir second innings at four o'clock. It was little more than a procession on a soft, much cut-up wickot, and not tho best light. Giffen proved irresistible. Travers also bowled excellently, and with judgment. Lilley’s score was a most meritorious performanc e under adverse conditions.
