FALLS DOWN A SHAFT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) Waihi, last night. A minor named Jerry Sullivan fell down the shaft of the Waihi mine, 100 feet. His back was broken, and he was killed instantly. He had, with others, gone down in the cage to a compartment, lifted the protecting bar, and walked into space, evidently thinking the cage was there. He was married, and aged 35.
