CANTERBURY SHOW
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. Fine weather with light cool breeze was experienced for the second day of the Canterbury A. and P. Association’s November Show. There was a fairly large attendance of the public, among the visitors being the Countess of Banfurly, who was taken round the Show by Mr F. A. Archer, President of the Association. Practically all the oxhibits are on tho ground, and tho display in every respect is quite as good as last year. The judges were busy all morning making awards in tho sheep, cattle, horses, and pigs. In Shorthorn cattle the champion was Mr A.. Chamberlain’s Duke Kothesay, which obtained the medal and first* in 1899. This bull was also awarded a special prize with two of his own progeny. In Ayrsliires tho chief exhibits were from Sunnyside Asylum, which practically took all prizes in this class. In fat cattle Mr W. C. Buchanan took first, second, and third prizes. Tho entries were not quite so good in this class as last year. The entries in sheep this year were very fine, the longwools being even better than last year, and the merinos well maintain the provious standard.
