James Burtenshaw, nn old resident of this district, attempted to commit suicide last night by cutting his throat with a razor. He was removed to tho hospital and is expected to recover. Wanganui, last night. Miss Fraser (M.A.), principal of the Girls' College, has resigned. During her eight years’ regime tho College progressed wondorfully, both in attendance and educational results.
