Mr J. Vs innray returns from Auckland this afternoon.

I Lev. Canon and Mrs Webb leave for Napier by the Zcalandia this evening. Mr T. Steele, proprietor of the Albion Hotel, leaves for Christ.-nu.i.-h this evening by the Zcalandia fur the purpose of attending the Agricultural Show. We [ understand that Air Stock- has been commissioned to purchase a number of prize stock at the show on behalf ot several of our leading settlers. lie will be absent from Gisborne for a fortnight. Mr A. L. Galbraith, special representative of the Equitable Life Insurance Company, who has been for some mouths in this district, has been promoted to the Christchurch branch, and leaves with Mr . N. —.bmpson, Inspector of the Society, on Wednesday next. Sergeant Siddelk leaver: /or Christ- ; church ilv-s evening by the Zcalandia. He will be absent from Gisborne for a fortnight, during which time his duties will be carried on by Sergeant Smart, of Napier.
