ALLEGED “ MORAL ” MURDERS,

In April last the barge Gwyder, whilst in tow, foundered, and three men were drowned. In tho Assembly several labor members vehemently attacked the Government for not holding an independent inquiry into the loss of the barge. They asserted that the owner was a member of the Marine Board, and had not- conformed to tho law. One member stated that the barge was utterly unseaworthv, and that the men were morally murdered. The Premier promised to state next week whether he would take criminal proceedings against the master of the tug or the owner of the barge.
