OUR LOCAL BANDS.

(To the Editor of Times.)

Sir, —I hope you will allow mo a small space in your valuable paper to try and rectify an erroneous idea that may be circulated amongst your numerous subscribers. 1 refer to the Italian string band. Mr Cannon states in liis letter that there arc two bauds in the district, both of which cheerfully give their services for any charitable object; he also states that the wandering Italian can rub along on a handful of maccaroni and an onion a day. Now I can positively prove that this band not only stays at the best hotels or boardinghouses and pay their way, hut they also give their survives to any charitable object with the same zest and fueling of a true born Britisher. Hoping you will insert this in favor of those who arc deserving,—l am, etc., Douolas Denson, Member Italian Band.
